Joyce Kerstens (1965) is a sociologist and has over 20 years of research experience in the areas of policy, governance, education and security. She worked at policy consultant B & A in The Haque and at the ITS research institute at Radboud University in Nijmegen. From 2005, Joyce has been working at the Cybersafety Research Group. There, she specialized in the analysis of security issues in an increasingly digital society. She also teaches in the field of criminology and cyber safety.
Joyce received her PhD on December 4th 2015 from the Faculty of Law of the Open University with a dissertation on online perpetrators and victims among adolescents. In 2016/2017 she was project leader of a pilot for the use of minors by the police in the fight against cybercrime and promoting online safety.
