Marko van Eekelen Professor of Faculty of Computer Science

Prof. Dr. Marko van Eekelen is Professor for Software Technology at the Faculty of Management, Science and Technology of the Open University of the Netherlands (OUNL), chairing the department of Computer Science. Furthermore, he is programme leader of the OU Software Engineering Master: a top quality Master of Science ranking first in National Student Enquiries evaluations.

He is also affiliated with the Radboud University in Nijmegen as a member of the Digital Security department. He has ample experience in transfer of academic knowledge as the Scientific Director of the Nijmegen Laboratory for Quality Software (LaQuSo).

Under his supervision many security assessments have been performed leading to lots of significant improvements, not only improving the applications but also influencing the organizations and their development process. His research is both on the technical level (correctness, security, software analysis, energy consumption analysis) and on the educational level (software engineering education).
