Trijntje Völlink University lecturer Department of Psychology

Since 2003 I have been working as an university lecturer at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences (PenOw) of the Open University. I work in particular on course development for the Bachelor and Master and I supervise students of (Health) psychology.

With regards to research, I have been actively doing research into cyberbullying with my colleague Francine DeMuth over the last ten years. In addition to various international publications and contributions to conferences I was guest editor of a special issue of the Journal of Community and Social Psychology Concerning Antisocial behavior in online communities together with Francine DeMuth in 2013. From 2010-2015 I was involved  in a PhD research on cyberbullying as co-promoter (i.e. Stop Bullies Online: Development and evaluation of an online computer-tailored intervention for low-educated cyberbullying victims by Dr. N. Jacobs) and into cyber safety (i.e. Youth and Cyber Safety: youth being at risk and being a risk on the internet by J. Kerstens). From 2008 to 2012 I was - together with Francine DeMuth of the Open University - a member of Europe's network of researchers into cyberbullying. In 2016, I was editor of the book "Cyberbullying: From theory to intervention.” with Dr. F. DeMuth and C. Mc Guckin.
